The dates and venue for JAE 2015 have been confirmed and we have a new home from now on. Gone are the days of Wicksteed Park and, though it was fun, we ran out of room and couldn't get any more. Now we have a new venue with new opportunities and - coming soon - some new events! All in good time and in time honoured fashion the JAE Reps meeting will be held early in the Spring so clubs can come and see at first hand and stake their claim for their plots. It all promises to be very exciting!
Gates open midday Thursday 10th September, the event closes on Sunday 13th September
Now at the Newark Showground
Club bookings will be from January 2015 and, with no Grandfather Rights it's strictly first-come first-served. If you're not sure where you want to be then get your form in now and we will contact you with some suggestions and an outline plan of where the best pitches are. Detailed plans and drawings will be available in February. For now just get your club organised for the new JAE 2015 at our smashing new venue (as Mark would say)
Nissan have yet to unveil their LMP1 car for next year's Le Mans. True they had a launch event earlier this year but the closest we got was to look at a large black silk cloth draped over a racing car and to meet some of the drivers who will pilot the vehicle next June. With Toyota already ahead of Nissan in experience at the endurance racing scene it seems Nissan have a lot to do. But they do make really cool videos though!
It would be true to say everyone so far has been very patient with regards JAE 2015 and confirmation of dates. Since JAE 2014 ended we've been analysing the situation at Wicksteed Park. For next year they plan more planting - we still haven't got a map for this year's plants! They also plan more work and will have access to a lot of the firelds we rely on. Sadly, while we have been working hard to make JAE happen at Wicksteed Park they seem a little less flexible.
In parallel with all that we have been meeting other venues and exploring other options. We've dismissed some venues and are now in discussions with three potential venues, all of whom want long term arangements with us and which we think would be great for JAE.
Events from time to time have to move. Just the parking space for cars now would more than fill Billing. Peterborough still has a huge grandstand in the middle and has major noise issues with neighbours. As for Mersea that's way too smal and way to far out of the way (unless you live in Essex)
More details coming soon and confirmation of venue and dates but for now please bear with us while we work on this.
